The Spirit of Barangayanihan Ignited in the 4-in-One Outreach Program for over 250 Bulakenyos

The spirit of Barangayanihan continued to ignite as it initiated a 4-in-One Outreach Program as part of the institutions’ Corporate Social Responsibility in the remote area of Sitio Kalayakan, Dona Remedios Trinidad Bulacan. The Outreach program which benefited over 250 residents of Sitio Kalayakan who were recently hit by typhoon Karding had 4 parts; Medical Mission, Dental Mission, Feeding Program, and Free Haircuts for all the beneficiaries. The program was very timely for the residents as they were one of those areas who were directly hit by the typhoon.

The program opened with the performance of a live band from FSRRB (First Scout Ranger Regiment Bulacan) to give entertainment to the beneficiaries, followed by the feeding program where the beneficiaries received meal sets sponsored by Fabricotti Mobili Trading Corp. The simple event was then followed by fun games for the children to enjoy. As this happens, the dental mission started to give its services for the residents and had garnered an approximate number of 100 tooth extractions for the day.

Simultaneously, the medical mission continued and gave free check-ups and consultations for over 250 beneficiaries as well as the free haircut program which lined up the residents of Sitio Kalayakan, looking forward to their fresh cut from the volunteer barbers.

The residents also received various giveaways from the sponsors including medicines, toothbrush, toothpaste, and Nutriban Snacks from Tinapayan Festival. Smiles are seen from their faces as they received not only their needs but they were brought simple moments of happiness and excitement by this mission.

The day almost ended smoothly but then the typhoon started to fill the area, nonetheless, everyone worked together to fulfil the mission and relay the help to the residents. The event truly ignited the meaning, values, and the spirit of Barangayanihan as everyone showed their dedication through volunteerism.

The outreach program ended strongly as it had accomplished the mission of delivering the help to the residents. At the end of the program, the residents witnessed the recognition of those who made the mission, possible. The first ones to be recognized were the Chairman of the Board of Trustees and the general manager of Barangayanihan , Mr. J.J. Javier and Ms. Rezhene Madrinico.

Efforts of the major sponsors were also recognized; Tinapayan Festival, Fabricotti Mobili Trading Corp., MC Capstone Builder & Company, J.A.S.S. Installation Services Corp., DOH Municipality of DRT Bulacan, Capt. Dr. Alfredo Martinez Jr. (Dentist), First Scout Ranger Regiment Bulacan. Acknowledgments to the volunteer security of the mission was also made to the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 1st Company, the 70th Infantry Battalion – Philippine Army, and First Scout Ranger Regiment Bulacan Security Team.
